Who are they?

Sarah Evans - Head Teacher

I have been a member of the Great Barford Lower School governing body since I joined the school, as Headteacher in September 2014.

Together, the governors, staff and I, work hard to make sure that all of our children have the opportunity to learn and develop in a safe and exciting environment. We are a strong governing body and I appreciate the support and challenge that the other governors offer.

When I’m not being a governor or a Headteacher I enjoy walking and sailing with my family as well as reading and cooking.

Ann Lovesey - Co-opted Governor

I have been a School Governor for a number of years, first as a staff governor when teaching, then as a Parish Council Governor and then Community Governor. I was Chair for several years

I have taught in the Lower School sector for over 30 years, many of them at Great Barford Lower, including 15 years as Deputy Head

I have been a Parish Councillor since 1976 having moved into the village in 1966. The village has grown an enormous amount since then.

I am Churchwarden at the local Parish Church and for many years was heavily involved with the Great Barford Scout Group and the Jordan’s Close Camp Site.

I have been married for over 50 years, with 2 lovely daughters and 4 superb granddaughters.

Sarah Clements - Co-opted governor

My name is Sarah Clements. I live in Great Barford and I became a co-opted Governor in September 2014 of the Lower School. I have now taken the chair in the Finance committee as well as being the Interim Chair.

I have a finance background having worked for the Highways Agency, part of Central Government for 10 years. The majority of this time was spent as a Financial Analyst for the Major Projects Department. I left this role to have children in 2011 and now work part -time running my own Residential Letting Agency.

With this background knowledge, I am able to help the school in the well running of their finances, oversee the auditing process and provide the general support that governors bring. My son and I have visited the school together, and it's so nice to be involved in a happy school where everyone is made to feel welcome.
